Carroll R. Phillips was a dedicated leader and close friend to the staff and Board of Directors at ProFed Credit Union. Mr. Phillips served on the board of directors for 30 years and led the credit union as chairman for 28 years. He taught at Fort Wayne Community Schools for 35 years and enjoyed serving on the board of the MLK Montessori School. In addition to serving as past president of Allen County and Fort Wayne Teacher's Associations, he was also the past president of Fort Wayne Area Retired Teachers. Mr. Phillips served in the Air Force during WWII and retired later as a lieutenant colonel. He was an Indiana University alumnus, earning both a bachelor of science and a master's degree in education. Carroll Phillips was a tireless worker, demonstrating by example the giving of his time and talents for many worthwhile causes and endeavors. It is in this spirit of genuine caring and concern for mankind that the Carroll R. Phillips Scholarship Fund established.
This scholarship is intended to provide qualified high school seniors with financial assistance to pursue educational goals beyond their high school diplomas. Four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded annually in time to apply toward fall enrollment.
Robert A. Weaver was the former chairman of ProFed Credit Union's Board of Directors. He served on the board in various capacities from 1986 to 2007. Mr. Weaver also served the board in the honorary capacity of Director Emertius. He was a retired educator, having taught Government, Social Studies, and Economics at Fort Wayne Community Schools for over thirty years. He was also an adjunct faculty member at Indiana Institute of Technology. Mr. Weaver's dedication to education led him to work with many civic organizations, including Junior Achievement and the Indiana Credit Union League. One of Mr. Weaver's favorite parts of teaching Economics was sharing the credit union story. The Robert A. Weaver Scholarship Fund was established to preserve Mr. Weaver's legacy of dedication to education and community service.
This scholarship is intended to provide qualified returning adult college students (who have been out of school for at least a year) with financial assistance to pursue their educational goals. These goals may include: apprenticeship, vocational training, two-year degrees, or four-year degrees. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded annually in time to apply toward fall enrollment.
The members of the Scholarship Selection Committee will be appointed by the Chairperson of the ProFed Credit Union Board of Directors each year.

Final decisions on eligibility will be made by the ProFed Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship winners are required to attend a presentation ceremony or have family representation at the ceremony. Scholarships will not be awarded to those not in attendance. Applicants may receive only one scholarship from ProFed Credit Union in any calendar year.
