External Accounts in ProFed Digital Banking

To transfer money to or from an outside account, go to Move Money in the menu, then select Manage Destinations. Here, you can select Add External Account. ProFed uses Plaid to connect your account. Select Continue, type in the institution you want to transfer money to or from, enter your credentials, and submit. Select the account, choose the account type, and continue. You will then verify the account by entering the routing number of the external account, followed by the external account number, and then entering it again to confirm. Once complete, your external account will be successfully added. You are now ready to transfer to or from that account, or use the external account to make a payment. This is also where your external accounts will appear in the future.

To make a payment from an external account to your ProFed loan or credit card, go to Payments and Transfers. Select your external account from the accounts drop-down list. The rest of the process should feel familiar. After you fill everything out, review the details and submit. You will receive a message letting you know the payment or transfer was successfully scheduled. When you go back to Accounts and Move Money, you will see the scheduled payment listed at the bottom. If something changes, you can select the three dots to edit or delete it. Next, to schedule a transfer from your external account to your account at ProFed, go to Payments and Transfers and select your external account from the accounts drop-down list. The rest of the process should again feel familiar. Once you have filled everything out, review the details and submit. You will receive a message confirming that the payment or transfer was successfully scheduled. When you return to Accounts, Move Money, and Scheduled Transfers, you will see the scheduled transfer listed at the bottom. If something changes, you can select the three dots to edit or delete it.

It is important to note that scheduled payments, scheduled transfers, and managed destinations are listed separately, so keep that in mind if you do not see what you are looking for. If you need additional help, please reach out to our Member Services team.
